Sendea Academy, a department of Sendea Uganda, has been successfully offering training courses in solar technology since 2018. These courses aime to reduce the skills gap in the solar industry in Uganda. Therefore the biggest number of participants are either employed by local solar companies or they are self employed (commonly known as free lancers).
With this in mind, Sendea has designed the courses with a break of 2 weeks within the 5-week training programme so that participants are not absent from their workplaces for 5 weeks at a stretch. In addition, this break is important to apply the learned training content directly in practice, thus closely linking theory and practice.
Who can apply?
Sendea encourages women in particular to apply for the solar training. In previous courses, the percentage of women was 44%.
The number of participants per course is limited to 12. So if you register quickly, you have a better chance of getting one of the popular training places.
Where do the courses take place?
The courses are held at the Nakawa Vocational Training Institute in Kampala.
What are the costs?
The course fee per participant is 500,000 UGX only (without accomodation).
